The Desert Prince

Overview

Sesha and her friends must decide where their future lies.

Forced to leave without Ky and the scroll, Sesha, Paser, and Reb flee Thebes in the company of a Hyksos spy, whom they free in exchange for his services as their guide. With only the stars and the spy to guide them, they venture up the Nile and into deshart, the red lands, in search of a hidden oasis and Princess Merat, who was given to a Hyksos Chieftain.

Battling endless dunes, unrelenting heat, and blinding sandstorms, they straggle into the Hyksos camp to find the rebels preparing for battle. During their time with the tribe, they are forced to work together, and the lines in the sand become blurred. Sesha comes to respect the Hyksos and their advanced weaponry, and wonders if there’s anything she can do to prevent them from going to war with her people. With the threat of battle looming, she and her friends must decide where their future and loyalties lie.

Reviews

As a child obsessed with the Egypt of the pharaohs, I would have devoured this action-packed series. It brings the vibrant ancient kingdom to life in wonderful, shimmering detail.
