Dundurn Press is pleased to announce that Eliott Behar has won the 2015 Albanian Canadian Excellence Award (ACE Award) in the category of Contribution to the Albanian Community
Eliott Behar is the author of Tell It to the World: International Justice and the Secret Campaign to Hide Mass Murder in Kosovo, published by Dundurn in December 2014. A long-standing interest in human rights and criminal justice lead Eliott Behar to a career as a Crown prosecutor. In 2008 he became a war crimes prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.
Behar says the experience of the trial lead him to write Tell It to the World, his first book, which tells the story of what took place in Kosovo, and reflects on mass violence and the importance and value of the justice process. In the fall of 2015, Tell It to the World was nominated for the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction. Quill & Quire wrote, “Tell It to the World is a difficult read, but a necessary one.”
The ACE Awards were given out at a gala event in Woodbridge on Saturday, May 14th. For more information about the Albanian Canadian Excellence Awards, please visit www.acesociety.ca. For more information about Eliott Behar, visit Dundurn.com, or contact:
